15th Anniversary 2009 Forty Under 40: Letter from the Publisher

Rochester Business Journal
November 6, 2009

Dear Readers,

We are delighted to publish this special section in recognition of the 15th anniversary of our Forty Under 40 program. It contains profiles of the 2009 honorees, as well as updated information on hundreds of those we have recognized in prior years.

We began this program because we wanted to spotlight our community's young professionals who, while often balancing family responsibilities, also were finding time to contribute their talent to Rochester's many non-profit organizations. We hope that in some small way we have encouraged younger people to find the time to become more involved in our non-profit organizations. Their contributions of time and talent enrich our community.

The past honorees profiled here-those who replied to our Forty Under 40 alumni survey-are continuing to enjoy success. Fortunately for Rochester, they also are continuing to find time to volunteer. And so we are proud to highlight them and their accomplishments again.

A very special thank-you goes to the University of Rochester's Simon Graduate School of Business, our longtime event sponsor, as well as to all of the advertisers who have helped to make this publication possible.

We are committed to continuing the tradition of honoring Rochester's up-and-coming leaders. And we hope to see you at this year's special 15th-anniversary luncheon on Tuesday, Nov. 17, where we will recognize current as well as former honorees.

 Sincerely,

 Susan R. Holliday
 President and Publisher
