LiDestri Foods Inc. has completed the purchase of Eastman Business Park Building 642, Eastman Kodak Co. officials announced Wednesday.
LiDestri plans to house its expanding manufacturing operations and a new product development center in the 625,000 square foot building at 1000 Lee Road in Greece.
“LiDestri is a company of the highest stature in the food and beverage industry, so we are excited to have them come to Eastman Business Park to grow their business, especially since they chose the site after an extensive review process that looked multiple sites in several states,” said David Stoklosa, director of Eastman Business Park, in a statement.
LiDestri has indicated that the operations in Building 642 will employ about 60 people when its initial operations begin early in 2010. LiDestri said it plans to invest more than $10.5 million in the expansion in Building 642.
“The Rochester area has been our home base since the business was started, so we are delighted that our latest expansion could also be located in the Rochester area,” CEO John LiDestri said in a statement.
In June, the Fairport manufacturer of food products was approved for $336,740 in tax breaks by the County of Monroe Industrial Development Agency. The community benefit is $1.8 million, COMIDA officials said.
LiDestri’s $10.5 million expansion project is expected to create 60 new jobs, COMIDA officials said in June.
The company employs roughly 435 in Fairport, Dundee in Yates County and at sites in New Jersey and California.
