Finger Lakes Technologies Group has inked a deal to provide voice and data services to the village of Victor, company and village officials said Friday.
Terms of the three-year agreement call for the company to provide broadband Internet and telephone service to the Ontario County village’s village hall, wastewater treatment facility and fire hall. The village also would be the first Ontario County municipality to connect to the 180- mile Ontario County fiber-optic ring.
Mayor John Holden said the village selected the Victor-based firm, a subsidiary of the family-owned Trumansburg Telephone and Ontario Telephone Cos., partly because it is locally based but also because its bid came in 25 percent under other providers’ bids for telephone service and 30 percent lower than other providers’ Internet connection bids.
