Nazareth College and New York Chiropractic College have been named to The Chronicle of Higher Education’s 2010 Great Colleges to Work For program.
Colleges were judged on 12 recognition categories, such as collaborative governance and compensation and benefits. The survey was the largest yet conducted by The Chronicle, with roughly 43,000 people at 275 campuses responding.
Nazareth, recognized for the second consecutive year, was honored in two of the 12 separate categories, including confidence in senior leadership—that leaders have the knowledge, skills and experience necessary for institutional success. Nazareth was also recognized for and tenure clarity and process—that it has clear process in place describing tenure protocol.
“Our campus community is especially proud to earn national recognition among colleges and universities as a great place to work,” said Daan Braveman, Nazareth president.”This wonderful achievement is a real tribute to the devoted efforts of our entire faculty and staff.”
New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls was recognized in seven categories including job satisfaction and supervisor/department chair relationships. The list noted that it is common for employees at the college to receive personal thank-you notes from senior officials for jobs well done.
