Wegmans ranks No. 4 on Fortune's best places to work list

Rochester Business Journal
January 19, 2012

Wegmans Food Markets Inc. has been ranked as one of the “100 Best Companies to Work For” by Fortune for the 15th consecutive year.

Wegmans came in fourth this year, behind Google Inc., Boston Consulting Group and SAS Institute Inc.

Fortune listed Wegmans’ 2010 revenue at more than $5.6 billion. The company, which has more than 40,000 employees nationwide, ranked third on last year’s list.

The methodology for the list is based on employee surveys that feature questions about pay, benefit programs, hiring practices, training, diversity efforts and more. Wegmans was the only company with  Rochester headquarters to make this year’s list.
