Railroad operator Genesee & Wyoming Inc. has added a new director.

Ann Reese joined its board of directors, effective Feb. 2. Reese has served as a chief financial officer for ITT Corp. and a principal at investment firm Clayton, Dubilier and Rice LLC. She is a director of Xerox Corp. and Sears Holding Corp. Reese will serve on GWI’s audit committee, the company said.

“With her extensive experience in finance and as a public company director, Ann Reese is a wonderful addition to the GWI board,” said Mortimer Fuller III, GWI chairman, in a statement.

The company owns and operates short-line and regional freight railroads in the United States, Canada, the Netherlands and Australia. The company is based in Connecticut with its administrative base in Rochester.
