Union workers OK contract with Jordan Health Center

Rochester Business Journal
April 18, 2012

Union workers at the Anthony L. Jordan Health Center voted Monday to approve a new, three-year contract, officials said Tuesday afternoon.

Talks have been ongoing since the previous contract’s expiration on Dec. 31, 2011. An agreement between the Service Employees International Union 1199 United Healthcare Workers East unit and the federally qualified health center’s management was reached after a federal mediator was called in earlier this year.

The new contract calls for a 3 percent wage hike retroactive to Jan. 1 and another 1.5 percent increase in October. Salary terms in 2013 and 2014 are to be decided in future negotiations. Other terms call for educational and college tuition benefits and continuation of the 60-member bargaining unit’s health plan.
