Wegmans to open another Pa. store in King of Prussia

Rochester Business Journal
May 2, 2012

It has been a long time coming, but Wegmans Food Markets Inc. will finally open a new 123,000 square-foot store in King of Prussia, Pa. on May 6.

The company said, in a statement, that it has been eying King of Prussia since 1996. Since that time, Wegmans has opened stores in New Jersey and other areas surrounding King of Prussia, which is just northwest of Philadelphia.

Wegmans officials attributed the delay to waiting for the right location to come together.

The new King of Prussia store features the Market Cafe that seats 300 people. Wegmans said the new store has brought 550 new employees to the company.

Wegmans now has 80 stores in six states, with 15 in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
