Venture group to hold event on Tuesday

The Upstate Venture Association of New York is slated to meet Tuesday at Locust Hill Country Club, with EFP Rotenberg LLP partner David Veniskey the keynote speaker.

Veniskey is to discuss financial incentives from federal and state sources in support of business investments.

Nixon Peabody LLP business group member Daniel McAvoy also will speak at the capital forum, officials said. He is to discuss the Jumpstart our Business Startups Act and crowdfunding, which allows small amounts of capital to be raised from numerous investors.

The event begins with McAvoy’s discussion from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Registration and a networking reception begins at 5 p.m., followed by Veniskey’s address at 6.
