Faheem Masood has been promoted to president and chief operating officer at ESL Federal Credit Union, with David Fiedler relinquishing the presidency and remaining CEO, company officials announced Tuesday.

Masood, with 21 years of experience in the credit union industry, was senior vice president and marketplace director at ESL prior to the move. He will keep his current responsibilities, including ESL Investment Services LLC and corporate planning, and will assume control of ESL’s operations and lending centers.

“This organizational change brings all operating units under one leader, enhancing ESL’s ability to create alignment and a high degree of integration across all lines of business,” Fiedler said in a statement.

Fiedler had been president and CEO since 2003.

A resident of Fairport, Masood joined ESL in 1991 as a senior financial analyst. He was named manager of financial planning and analysis in 1994, and became president and COO of ESL Investment Services in 1997. He was named vice president of corporate product development in 2000.

This month, Joseph Cappello was promoted to wealth manager for ESL Investment Services. Cappello was formerly a financial consultant.

Cappello serves as an investment adviser to high-net-worth individuals and business owners, providing comprehensive financial planning, portfolio construction and financial monitoring.
