Wayne County-based Sustainable Energy Developments Inc. has partnered with a Kansas-based wind power distributor to expand its geographic reach.
SED and Harvest the Wind Network LLC will partner to increase distributed and community wind market penetration, create jobs and foster energy independence, the firms said.
SED, located in the town of Ontario, is a project manager and installer of distributed wind projects; Harvest the Wind manages a network of dealers throughout the United States.
“The formation of this alliance with Harvest the Wind Network is an important part of our strategy to capitalize on (SED’s) project development experience, to solidify our position as a leader in the expanding distributed wind market,” said SED CEO Kevin Schulte in a statement. “(Harvest the Wind’s) national reach and its commitment to the community and distributed wind marketplace present a huge opportunity for both of our companies to profit.”
The partnership grew out of the two companies’ work developing a wind turbine project in the Wayne Industrial Sustainability Park in Ontario, the companies said. The turbine is scheduled for installation in the fall of this year.
