Harris Interactive Inc. closed its Princeton, N.J., office on June 29, the company disclosed in a filing Friday with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Officials said the move is a part of Harris Interactive’s ongoing initiative to evaluate its leased office space needs. The company said the closing of the Princeton office will result in exit costs of roughly $1.5 million in cash. The exit costs will be recognized in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2012, which ended June 30.
Thirty employees worked in the office. All will be offered the opportunity to work off-site, a company spokesman said.
In May, the Rochester Business Journal reported Harris Interactive plans to move its headquarters from New York City to the Rochester area by the end of the year.
The company relocated its corporate headquarters from Brighton to New York City in late 2008. The move to return the headquarters here would increase the number of Harris Interactive’s local employees from nearly 150 to some 200 workers. The company has 300 employees in the United States.
