Wegmans Food Markets Inc. has announced the retirement of senior vice president and chief information officer Don Reeve, effective Aug. 3.

Reeve has spent 42 years with the company. He has served as a computer operator and programmer, systems analyst manager of programming and director of information technology, among other duties for Wegmans. Reeve was named chief information officer in 1986,

“Don is one of the most delightful people I’ve ever known,” said CEO Danny Wegman in a statement. “He gets along so well with everyone. With technology being connected to everyone in our company, this talent has been so important in Don’s success.”

Dave DeLaus, senior vice president and division manager of Wegmans’ New Jersey stores, will take over as CIO, the company said.
