Harris Corp.’s RF Communications division has received a $10 million order to supply the Canadian government with multiband manpack radios and satellite terminals.
The equipment will provide Canadian military forces with secure voice and data communications in both line-of-sight and beyond-line-of-sight applications, the Henrietta firm said. Integrated together, the radios and satellite terminals support network-enabled applications such as streaming video and collaborative chat.
“The system we’re delivering will provide Canadian forces with greater situational awareness and command and control in the full range of mission environments,” said Brendan O’Connell, president of RF Communications’ international business unit, in a statement.
The announcement came a day after the company said it had received an $8 million order from an undisclosed country in the Middle East for high-frequency manpack radios as part of its tactical radio modernization program.
