Five Star Bank has named Martin Griffith regional president for Western New York, which includes three counties in the Rochester market.

Griffith joined Warsaw, Wyoming County-based parent Financial Institutions Inc. in 2000 as a vice president and senior commercial lender for the former Wyoming County Bank, bank representatives said in a statement.

He has been a regional market executive for the last six months, overseeing retail and commercial business development goals, sales performance and community involvement in the Western New York region.

Griffith will provide leadership for customers and communities in a region made up of Genesee, Livingston, Orleans, Erie and Wyoming counties, representatives said.

He also will serve as the primary business development leader for the five counties, bank officials said.

Griffith lives in Clarence, Erie County.
