EarthLink Inc., which has more than 400 employees in Rochester, has named Thomas Hobika vice president of its IT solution consultants segment.

Hobika will work out of the company’s Pittsford office.

Prior to joining EarthLink, Hobika served as vice president of business development, complex solutions, sales engineering and program management for XO Communications Services Inc. Mike Toplisek, executive vice president of IT services for EarthLink, said Hobika is the perfect candidate to help lead the firm’s new division.

“When we decided to expand our ITSC organization and enhance the level of IT services technical support across all distribution channels, Tom stood out as the ideal person to build and lead this new team,” Toplisek said.
