After adding staff and enrollees, WellCare Health Plans Inc. has moved its Rochester office to larger quarters in the Times Square Building, officials of the Florida-based health insurer said this week. The company offers only Medicare Advantage coverage locally but also offers Medicaid and long-term care managed care plans elsewhere in New York and in other states.
WellCare has doubled its local market share in the last year to 4.6 percent from 2.3 percent, spokeswoman Crystal Walker said. The company has 3,033 enrollees in Monroe County and 278 in Wayne County. It made the office move from its former quarters on State Street to accommodate four new staffers, bringing WellCare’s Rochester staff to 12, Walker added.
“We are very excited about the future prospects for WellCare in both the county and the state, and look forward to working with the Monroe community and providers to ensure that our plan members receive quality, cost-effective health care solutions,” said Kevin Conroy, president of WellCare’s New York region.
