Badger Technologies in Farmington expected to shut down

Badger Technologies Inc. may close its doors at the end of summer, the company told Farmington officials this week.

In a letter dated Aug. 10 and sent to Farmington Supervisor Ted Fafinski, Badger chief financial officer Jeff Keough said the firm was unable to refinance its debt and the lender is planning on selling its assets. The business is expected to cease operations before Aug. 26.

Badger is a contract manufacturer of printed circuit board assemblies, electrical cable and wire harness assemblies, and complete electro-mechanical box builds. The firm has roughly 95 workers, many of whom live in Ontario and Yates counties.

Last year, Badger said it was increasing capabilities at its Farmington, Ontario County, site by moving its electrical cable and wire harness assembly operation there from Penn Yan, Yates County.
