St. John Fisher College has been recognized as one of the nation’s fastest-growing campuses by The Chronicle of Higher Education.

The list of fastest-growing campuses was included in the Chronicle’s Almanac 2012-13 issue, and St. John Fisher was ranked No. 11 in the top 20 fastest-growing private non-profit research institutions in the nation.

The ranking looked at enrollment between fall 2000 and fall 2010, a period when St. John Fisher’s enrollment grew to 4,020 from 2,749, a 46.8 percent increase.

St. John Fisher was the only Rochester-area college included in the list, which also ranked public research institutions, public master’s institutions and private non-profit master’s institutions.

“Our campus has seen unprecedented growth over the last decade, due to our increasing enrollment and interest in the college,” said Donald Bain, St. John Fisher president. “Being recognized on this list is exciting for us, as our focus has always been on program expansion, strong academic initiatives, and a student-centered learning environment. As we continue to grow, we will keep that focus—and our mission—at the forefront of everything we do.”
