Rochester General Health System plans next month to launch a comprehensive fundraising campaign at Vegas!, the health system’s Las Vegas-themed annual gala, officials said Wednesday.
The health system plans to use funds raised to support construction and renovation of key facilities, acquisition and incorporation of new technology and community-focused programs. Specific details and goals of the campaign would be revealed at the gala, slated for Oct. 6 at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center, campaign director Anthony Benedetti said.
“Since December 2009 we have been working with friends and key supporters of Rochester General to develop a campaign that targets areas of significant community need while still being realistic in its goals,” Benedetti said. “We’re excited to start sharing the details with the community.”
In addition to acts featuring different eras of Las Vegas entertainment, ceremonies paying tribute to philanthropy award honorees the Przysinda Family Foundation, Nancy Briggs and former Rochester General Hospital CEO Arthur “Fritz” Liebert, who passed away Aug. 27, are planned. Officials expect some 1,000 to attend.
