Greater Rochester Enterprise Inc. and Dixon Schwabl Inc. have won Best Podcast award as part of the 2012 PR Daily Awards.

The awards are put on by Ragan Communications Inc., a publisher of public relations newsletters, research reports and guides. The awards honor the best work from public relations departments and agencies around the country.

Dixon Schwabl and GRE won for Eyes On The Future, a weekly call-in program on WHAM-AM 1180 covering the region’s economy that is also available in podcast form on GRE’s website. Dixon Schwabl said the podcasts have helped generate a 13 percent increase in traffic on the site.

The podcast beat out Southwest Airline Co.’s Red Belly Radio podcast for the award. The winners of the awards were announced at a luncheon Tuesday in Washington, D.C.
