RF Communications gets $25M radio order

Harris Corp.’s RF Communications division in Rochester has received a $25 million order from a government in the Middle East for its tactical radios as part of a military communications modernization program.

RF Communications will supply the unnamed country’s armed forces with its base stations, vehicular systems and manpack radios, the company said.

“(High frequency) radio systems are crucial for delivering up-to-the-minute situational awareness and command and control,” said Brendan O’Connell, president of RF Communications’ International Business unit, in a statement.

RF Communication employs some 2,200 workers here.
