Harris Interactive Inc., a market research firm that has been in the midst of a turnaround for a little over a year, has announced a partnership with Google Inc.

The partnership features the collaboration between Harris Interactive’s Harris Poll and Google’s recently launched Google Consumer Surveys. The partnership features the creation a new market research product for small and large companies called the Harris Poll and Google Consumer Surveys Platform.

The platform will feature ongoing benchmark studies investigating customer satisfaction in key industries, the first of which will be the banking industry.

The results of the study will be collected and delivered within the Harris Poll and Google Consumer Surveys Platform available through Google.com’s Insights section. The product will allow businesses to compare themselves to industry benchmarks at a fraction of the cost of traditional market research, officials said in a statement.

“We are excited to be involved in a venture that has the potential to reinvent the manner of which market research is conducted,” said Al Angrisani, CEO of Harris Interactive. “This is a unique opportunity to bring together Google’s innovative Consumer Surveys product with Harris Interactive’s expertise in delivering credible insights to the global business community.’
