Five Star Bank has named a commercial market executive and president of its East region, which includes Monroe and Ontario counties, officials announced Monday.

David Case, a Pittsford resident, is responsible for business development in Monroe, Cayuga, Ontario, Seneca and Yates counties, officials said. He previously served as senior vice president and regional market executive.

He replaces Martin Birmingham, who in August was named president and chief of community banking.

Case joined Five Star’s commercial banking team in 2005. He previously worked at RBS Citizens N.A., Fleet Bank and Chase Lincoln First Bank N.A.

Five Star is the bank subsidiary of Financial Institutions Inc. in Warsaw, Wyoming County.
