The Brighton Restaurant gets new ownership

Rochester Business Journal
November 1, 2012

The Brighton Restaurant on East Avenue will be under new ownership effective Sunday, Nov. 4.

New owners Mike Amalfi Jr. and C.W. Gregory will take the reins from longtime owner Joe Gianforti. The restaurant will close temporarily for renovations, but the new owners said they expect to reopen by Thanksgiving.

The Brighton Restaurant has been a Rochester staple for years. The business opened in 1864 as a hotel and tavern.

“I want to take this opportunity to thank all of my customers for their patronage,” Gianforti said. “Their loyalty helped make my stewardship of this landmark restaurant a terrific success. I am leaving with some wonderful memories and many customers who have become good friends.”
