Harris Corp.’s RF Communications division in Rochester has received orders totaling roughly $12 million to supply radio systems and field support to two undisclosed countries in Africa.

RF Communications is providing these nations with its tactical radio systems, along with training, installation and field support services. The orders include base stations, vehicular systems, and manpack and handheld radios.

The radios will be used to provide line-of-sight and beyond-line-of-sight tactical voice and data communications to armed forces personnel.

“The Falcon radios will provide security forces in these countries with combat proven, high-performance tactical voice and data communications,” said Brendan O’Connell, president of RF Communications’ international business, in a statement. “These capabilities are vital on a range of missions.”
