New and used car sales in Monroe County last month continued to improve on 2011 sales, the Rochester Automobile Dealers’ Association Inc. reported.

Some 3,156 new vehicles were sold in Monroe County in November, compared with 2,888 a year ago. Sales were down from 3,159 in October. Area dealers sold 1,752 used vehicles in November, relatively flat with 1,781 a year ago. Sales were down nearly 13 percent from 2,012 in October.

New and used car sales typically fall from October to November, RADA historical data show.

Monroe County auto dealers sold 4,908 new and used cars and trucks in November, compared with 4,669 a year ago and 5,171 in October. Some 60,151 vehicles have been sold here since January, up 5 percent from 57,282 a year ago.
