U.S. orders $7M in equipment from RF Communications

Harris Corp.’s RF Communications division in Rochester has received a $7 million order to supply the U.S. Special Operations Command with additional radios and accessories.

The equipment allows special operations forces to use high-speed data, voice and real-time video to address its command and control and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance requirements, the company said.

“Widely deployed across all branches of the U.S. Department of Defense, the (communications equipment) meets emerging mission requirements by providing unprecedented situational awareness for dismounted and vehicular warfighters,” said George Helm, president of RF Communications’ Department of Defense business, in a statement.

RF Communications employs some 2,200 workers.
