Wegman, Seligman to discuss state funding award

Rochester Business Journal
February 4, 2013

Representatives of the Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development Council are slated on Thursday to discuss its $96.2 million award for 2012 and the impact on upcoming projects.

The luncheon event, scheduled for 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Rochester, kicks off the Rochester Downtown Development Council’s 2013 Economic Growth Series.

Council co-chairmen Joel Seligman and Danny Wegman are expected to detail the strategy that resulted in the Finger Lakes getting more funding from the state than any of the nine other councils statewide.

Coupled with a 2011 award of $68.8 million, the Finger Lakes council’s two-year take of $165 million is the third-highest among the state councils devised by Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

Tickets are $45 for RDDC members and $50 for nonmembers. Tables of eight are $360 for members and $400 for nonmembers.
