List touts Wegmans for work-life balance

Wegmans Food Markets Inc. has landed on a list alongside high-profile global brands such as Google Inc. and The Walt Disney Co.

Indeed.com, a leading employment search engine, has released its list of the top 25 companies in the U.S. with the highest rated work-life balance, giving employees a healthy and productive balance between their work and personal lives.

Indeed.com said, in a statement, that a proper work-life balance leads to higher productivity while ensuring the happiness of the employees and therefore longer employee retention.

Wegmans placed second on the list, behind only consumer products company Colgate-Palmolive Co. The top-10 is as follows:

1. Colgate-Palmolive Co.
2. Wegmans Food Markets Inc.
3. Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC
4. H&R Block Inc.
5. Google Inc.
6. Nokia Corp.
7. Koninklijke Philips N.V. (Philips)
8. Johnson & Johnson
9. The Walt Disney Co.
10. Prudential Financial Inc.

The rankings were based on reviews posted at Indeed.com by current and former employees. On the website, Wegmans had a rating of four and a half stars (out of five).
