St. Ann's Community tops fundraising campaign goal

St. Ann’s Community has topped its $8 million campaign goal to fund the construction of two buildings on its Irondequoit and Webster campuses. It raised $9.2 million.

The organization announced its fundraising effort, Campaign for the Most Important People on Earth, brought in more than 3,500 gifts from foundations, individuals and estates. The campaign will fund the construction of the buildings, which both opened in May 2012.

“The personal investment of time and resources demonstrated by campaign chair Jim Leo, the capital campaign cabinet, our board of directors, our employees, our volunteers and our residents was absolutely unprecedented in the history of St. Ann’s Community,” said Betty Mullin-DiProsa, St. Ann’s Community president and CEO. “We set a high bar, and the results tell us that the changes we’ve made at St. Ann’s resonate with our community.”

The new facilities and reconfiguration of the existing buildings are part of a shift toward what Mullin-DiProsa termed person-centered care.

“St. Ann’s has created a place and an environment that seniors can truly call home,” she said.
