A Canada-based company is adding electronics to its recycling operations with the addition of a 60,000-square-foot facility in Orleans County that will create 30 jobs, officials announced Wednesday.

Bomet Recycling Inc., a non-ferrous scrap metal wholesale recycler based in Cambridge, Ontario, has purchased a building at 152 McKinstry St. in Albion as its first U.S. facility. The electronics operations will be called Bomet Recovery LLC, a subsidiary of Bomet Holding USA Inc.

“Orleans is manufacturing friendly, known for its workforce and how welcoming they are to new business,” CEO Zhan Bo Zhang said in a statement. “We are excited about this new operation and, I believe, this is only the start of great relations between us.”

Founded in 2005, Bomet Recycling Inc. also has a processing facility in China. It is the fifth Canadian manufacturer to locate in Orleans County, with a sixth to come soon, said James Whipple, CEO of the Orleans County Economic Development Agency.
