Air Force Thunderbirds to appear here in 2014

Rochester Business Journal
December 6, 2013

The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds will return to Rochester next summer after a year’s hiatus because of federal budget cuts, officials said Friday.

The Thunderbirds, the Air Force’s official air demonstration team, will perform at the Greater Rochester International Airport on Aug. 16 and Aug. 17. The Thunderbirds previously performed here in 2005 and 2008, officials said. Details of the event will be released early in 2014.

The last air show in Rochester was in 2011, featuring the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels.

The Thunderbirds were scheduled for 2013, but the show was cancelled following budget sequestrations.
