Tops Friendly Markets Inc. on Tuesday marked the re-opening of its Brighton supermarket following a $4 million renovation.

The $4 million was divided among an updated interior, expanded product selection and changes to store departments to best accommodate customers into 2014 and beyond, company officials said.

Tops has 159 supermarkets and employs 15,000 associates in Upstate New York, western Vermont and northern Pennsylvania. The company owns 154 supermarkets and operates five franchised stores.

A management-led buyout of the company closed Dec. 1.
