Vehicle sales in November outpace a year ago

Sales of new and used vehicles in November outpaced sales from a year ago, the Rochester Automobile Dealers’ Association Inc. reported.

Monroe County auto dealers sold some 3,494 new cars and trucks last month, down nearly 8 percent from 3,791 in October, but up nearly 11 percent from 3,156 a year ago. Used-car sales dropped from 2,057 in October and 1,752 a year ago to 1,727 in November.

New and used car sales typically decline from October to November, RADA historical data shows.

Auto dealers sold 5,221 new and used vehicles combined in November, down nearly 11 percent from 5,848 in October, but up 6 percent from 4,908 in November 2012.

Some 63,605 vehicles have been sold in Monroe County in the first 11 months of the year, up nearly 6 percent from 60,141 a year ago.
