Channel 8 anchor team adds Sunday segment

WROC Channel 8 is changing its schedule.

Anchor and managing editor Kevin Doran, co-anchor Maureen McGuire, chief meteorologist Scott Hetsko and sports director John Kucko are hoping to build on the success of Sunday night ratings with an added segment focusing on the week ahead.

The broadcast will include upcoming news stories paired with a seven-day forecast.

"More people watch TV on Sunday evening than any other night of the week,” Doran said.   “It's our responsibility to present the news when viewers want to see it.  We hope News 8 at 11 will get them ready for the work week. We're happy to make the change."

The schedule shift took effect Jan. 5.

“I think this is an example of News 8 really listening to the viewers and adapting to their lifestyle,” said Constance Howard, news director for WROC Channel 8.  “Sunday is an important day as it gets you ready for the next week.”
