Caliber Imaging & Diagnostics, formerly Lucid Inc., has appointed Daniel Mark Siegel, M.D. to its board of directors. The addition — effective immediately — increases the number of board members to eight.

Siegel is clinical professor of dermatology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center and is in private practice at Long Island Skin Cancer and Dermatologic Surgery in Smithtown, Suffolk County.

He also is an attending physician at SUNY Downstate Medical Center-University Hospital of Brooklyn and at the Brooklyn Campus of the Veterans Administration New York Harbor Healthcare System, and is on the medical staff at Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport, Suffolk County.

"Dr. Siegel brings tremendous experience to the company, and we are privileged to have him serve on our board,” said Michael Hone, Caliber I.D.’s CEO, in a statement. “We believe his extensive background in the challenges of skin cancer diagnosis, and his deep understanding of patient needs and concerns will serve us well."

Founded in 1991, Henrietta-based Caliber I.D. develops electro-optical products and instruments for medical applications.
