The Finger Lakes Visitor and Event Center has been christened in Geneva, Ontario County, to provide tourism and visitor services for locations throughout the area.

The center officially opened Friday. It also will serve as a location for social and recreational events on the north shore of Seneca Lake, officials said. The center will have information on Finger Lakes attractions, and has space for events such as conventions, meetings and weddings.

A concierge service will assist guests in scheduling visits, including amenities and reservations for dining and accommodations, officials said. The center is a focal point of Geneva’s plan for revitalization projects along the Seneca Lake waterfront and extending to its downtown said.
