Xerox to furlough some workers in March

Rochester Business Journal
February 24, 2014

Some Xerox Corp. employees will be furloughed for a week in March.

Xerox notified employees last week that salaried employees in a range of business groups in its services sector across the United States will be furloughed for a week next month, spokesman Bill McKee confirmed Monday.

Since the majority of local Xerox employees work in the technology sector of the business, the impact here is expected to be relatively small, McKee said.

“These actions, while very difficult decisions, enable the company to respond to changing business environments,” McKee said.

Xerox ranked first on the most recent Rochester Business Journal list of manufacturers. The company employs some 6,385 local workers.
