February 25, 2014

The High Falls Film Festival has a new executive director.

On Tuesday, officials announced Mary Manard Reed will succeed former director Mary Howard, who has moved to a career in real estate.

Reed had served as senior director of global branding and marketing communications at CooperVision Inc., a medical device manufacturer with sales in excess of $1 billion. Before joining CooperVision, she spent nearly 11 years at Eastman Kodak Co.

"Mary Reed brings extensive experience in the film industry, corporate and non-profit leadership in programming, fundraising, marketing and operations,” said Malcolm Spaull, the festival's chairman. "We are thrilled that she will be leading the High Falls Film Festival, helping us to further our mission and goals."

Reed has experience in the film industry through her tenure as marketing director for Kodak's motion picture film division. While at Kodak, she represented the company at various film festivals including SXSW, Sundance and Cannes.

The 12th season of the High Falls Film Festival is set to begin with a two-day Spring Fest on April 25 and 26.  The main festival is slated for Oct. 23 to 26.
