Arthur Treacher's to return to Rochester area

Arthur Treacher’s Fish & Chips will return to Monroe County sometime this year under franchisee Salvatore Fantauzzo.

Fantauzzo wants to open several Arthur Treacher’s locations throughout the area, he said  Monday.

The Monroe County location and an opening date will be announced soon, Fantauzzo said.

Fantauzzo, also known as Soccer Sam, owns Salvatore’s Old Fashion Pizzeria and is a co-owner of the Rochester Lancers indoor soccer team.

Arthur Treacher’s, a subsidiary of New York City-based TruFoods LLC, has 66 restaurants in the United States.

“When we re-opened Donuts Delite at Empire and Culver, I realized this city loves and supports its history,” Fantauzzo said in a statement.
