March 11, 2014

The 23rd American Advertising Awards, known as the Addy Awards, is slated to take place Thursday at 8 p.m. at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center.

The event honors Rochester’s creative advertising community across many categories, including illustration, broadcast, digital, photography and sales promotion. It is held by the Rochester Advertising Federation.

Some 450 people are expected to attend. A cocktail hour for the event begins at 6:30 p.m.

This year, 265 individual entries were submitted and winners will have an opportunity to continue on to regional and national level competitions. Roberts Communications Inc. designed the theme of the event, which is creative spirit animals.
