Kingsbury, investment firm to acquire assets of Italian group

Kingsbury Corp. has joined with AuSable Capital Partners LLC to acquire Milan-based Negri Bossi Group Inc.’s assets.

Negri Bossi Group manufactures injection molding machines and Cartesian robots. Financials of the transaction were not disclosed.

The assets include business units based in Italy, India and China and a partnership with the Czech Republic. Negri Bossi Group has a North American location in the New Castle, Del. area.

Kingsbury will focus on bringing the mold machine business back to the United States while continuing the Negri Bossi brand, officials said. Kingsbury will provide manufacturing of subassemblies for the machines, will support Negri Bossi’s spare parts business and will serve as maintenance, installation, or technical support.

The acquisition expands Kingsbury’s custom machine building capacity and helps the Negri Bossi brand’s market share in America. The deal also enhances Kingsbury’s presence in European markets.

“This is an exciting new opportunity for Kingsbury,” said William Pollock, Kingsbury president and CEO, in a statement. “Not only does this provide further diversification of the Kingsbury product line, it also expands our international market opportunities. We are particularly excited about the new opportunities in automation made possible with the Sytrama line of robots.”
