Ralph Lauren Corp.’s new line of flagship brand Polo Ralph Lauren suits and sports jackets will be made at Hickey Freeman in Rochester, helping to add up to 50 jobs in three years, officials announced Monday.

Ralph Lauren’s Blue Label tailored line—along with other deals Hickey Freeman hopes to secure in the coming months—could add 50 jobs to the current workforce of 415, said Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y.

Production of the new line is scheduled to begin in June, and the first orders are expected to be shipped in August, Schumer said.

“My hope is that this agreement, along with several others that Hickey Freeman is aiming to secure in the next few months, will strengthen this storied Rochester institution for decades to come,” Schumer said in a statement.

The contract with Ralph Lauren is expected to increase volume at the North Clinton Street manufacturer by 10 percent, Schumer said.
