State OKs Fidelis Care plans in two counties

Rochester Business Journal

Fidelis Care has received state Department of Health approval to offer Child Health Plus and Medicaid managed care insurance in Seneca and Yates counties, company officials said.

Affiliated with the Catholic Church, Fidelis Care offers the state sponsored Child Health Plus with sliding scale premiums to low-income New Yorkers.  It also offers other health insurance including Medicare Advantage to state residents of all income levels.

State approval for Fidelis in the two Rochester-area counties puts the insurance plan in 61 of the state’s 62 counties.

Fidelis hopes to offer services shortly in Jefferson County, the only New York county where it does not currently operate, officials said.
