New vehicle sales climb in May

Sales of new vehicles in Monroe County rose in May, Rochester Automobile Dealers’ Association Inc. reported.

Car dealers sold 4,730 new cars and trucks last month, up more than 18 percent from 4,002 a year ago. Sales were up nearly 10 percent, from 4,302, in April. RADA does not report used-car sales.

Monroe County dealers have sold 19,290 new vehicles since January, 8 percent more than the 17,779 new vehicles sold in the first five months last year.
