Paychex Inc. has acquired a cloud-based time-and-attendance product provider that company officials say will enhance Paychex’s strong record in the area of software as a service.

On Tuesday the company announced the acquisition of NetTime Solutions LLC, a Scottsdale, Ariz.-based company founded in 2008. The company ranked No. 4,456 on the Inc. 5000 list in 2013—the fourth year in a row on the list. It had 2012 revenue of $4.7 million and a three-year growth rate of 52 percent.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Martin Mucci, Paychex president and CEO, said the acquisition will pair Paychex’s record of exceptional customer service with the software as a service technology of a market leader in the time and attendance realm.

“The acquisition of NetTime Solutions accelerates our ability to deliver the latest cloud-based time and attendance functionality, which is important to the markets we serve,” Mucci said. “The combination of NetTime’s development expertise and Paychex’s service experience positions us to expand our success in the time and attendance market.”

NetTime’s roughly 60 employees will be given the opportunity to become Paychex employees, the Penfield company said.
