Local firms LVW Advisors LLC and Alesco Advisors LLC are among 34 financial firms in New York on the Financial Times’ inaugural list of top 300 registered independent advisers.

The list recognizes the leading RIA firms across the United States, officials from the London-based newspaper company said last week. It was developed in collaboration with Money-Media, a Financial Times subsidiary that provides content on asset management and corporate governance.

LVW Advisors, under the ownership of Lori Van Dusen (pictured), manages assets of $3.5 billion. Alesco Advisors, under President James Gould, oversees some $1.7 billion.

Both firms have their headquarters in Pittsford.

The 300 firms represent 38 states and Washington, D.C. The firms’ average assets under management is $2.8 billion, Financial Times said.
