The Rochester-based Associated New York State Food Processors Inc. has joined the Rochester Business Alliance Inc. as its first statewide affiliate, officials announced.

Founded in 1885, the food processors group is the oldest statewide food processing trade association in the nation, officials said. It represents much of New York’s processed food industry, including fruits, vegetables, wine and specialty items.

“We are thrilled to bring on the Associated New York State Food Processors as RBA’s first statewide affiliate,” said Barbara Cutrona, RBA vice president of operations, in a statement released Tuesday.

“It’s our goal to help the association expand its reach and create efficiencies through our affiliate services, including advocacy, membership coordination, event planning, administration and marketing.”
