Verizon Wireless Inc. has activated three new 4G LTE cell sites in the Rochester area.

The cell sites are located in Brockport, Webster and Canandaigua, at the Constellation Brands-Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center.

In addition, the company has added the XLTE technology to 18 sites in the region including nine sites in Rochester, including the University of Rochester area; two in Canandaigua, including CMAC; and in Batavia, Bergen, Churchville, Darien Lake, Geneva, Irondequoit and Victor.

XLTE provides faster speeds and greater capacity, the company said.
